hello! i have a samsung s5 sm g900h, and i really want to root it.. i hope you can help me..please.. thank you so much!!!
here it starts, the s5 cp shows that it was made from Vietnam, but then as i turned off the phone and hold vol up + home + power button Chinese characters went out then i tried to hold volume down + home + power button and what i get are three options, recovery mode/fastboot mode/normal mode

as i chose recovery mode and clicked the power button to look for more options, there are options that follows which are:

      reboot system now
apply update from ADB/sdcard/cache(these three are separated but the same word “apply update”)
      wipe data/factory reset
      wipe cache partition
      backup user data
      and restore user data

that’s all, i can’t find the downloading process on phone :/ as what you showed on the video

i really like to root my phone . thank you soo much for help

      Hello Max,
I have been having problems replacing the boot files of boot animations, the animation even works when I turn off the S5, but when I turn on, the animation I put does not work, and the original animation of the custom ROM appears (in this case, I’m using the Alliance).
What do I to make the animations work correctly?
Since now, thank u very much!

      • Max Lee says:

Here, this is what you should be reading on FAQ:
Q: I don’t get CWM Recovery, I just see stock recovery after flashing CWM with ODIN!!!
A: On some S5 models, there is a script that overwrites the recovery you flashed. If you get stock recovery, just simply flash recovery again using method 1, as soon as you see “PASS!”, pull the battery before your phone reboots.

Hi Max, I installed philz touch for SM-G901F using Odin with success but when i try to boot into recovery philz touch doesn’t show, it looks like a basic recovery. And i think that basic recovery won’t let me install SuperSU, says wrong footer!

  13. scott says:

Max, I have used your site and info for some years. But your move to put your files behind a captcha system has pissed me off enough to look elsewhere for the information I need. There isn’t and logical reason for it and after trying to get thru it 3-4 times and it telling me wrong answer when I am telling it the truth, I rest my case.
I really liked the way you explained things, but honestly, this is like one of your friend turning into a network marketer.

  28. Albert Briscoe says:

I’d like to know how to actually use philz touch wiz on my galaxy s5. Let me explain, im running the moar rom and everything was on my sd card which my goofy ass formatted so I lost my rom but I have an otg and was able to go to philz touch wiz and backed everything up. My issue is something happened to my google account and now I cant get into any google apps, who can live without Gmail, inbox, the playstore and I do alot on google plus too plus all of my photos. So I got in contact with google whom told me I need to factory reset my phone. I’m alittle nervous now because my only back up is safely on my otg but I don’t wanna make any mistakes please someone help.

    • Kamil says:

So by OTG you mean you have backed up your ROM onto a flash drive? If so, you should be able to restore the backup from where ever it is you backed up to. A factory reset will not remove Philz unless you flash the stock Rom back onto the phone using Odin. So, theoretically as long as Philz Touch is still there and the backup is in Philz format the restore should work. If you loose Philz you can just re-flash it back and then restore.

i want to root my SM-G900H lolipop 5.0 . CWM recovery need anybody help me.sorry for my bad english ☺

  30. Oliver says:

What did I do? Well on my SM-G900T, I rooted and loaded a custom ROM and everything was cool. I then unrooted and loaded the Tmobile stock rom (which I saw the instructions on your site) and thats fine.. Now I want root it again and load another ROM and I cant… Philz touch wiz doesnt show up on the reboot (Vol UP-Home-Power) after rooting…Help pls

    • Kamil says:

This is because when flashing the stock Rom you remove root. You will need to flash Philz Touch again and re-root the phone then you will be able to install Custom Roms again.

  43. Abhay says:

Hi, I own a Samsung Galaxy s5 G900P phone which is refurbished phone and it’s rooted and is installed with a custom ROM of G900H. I was unware of this fact when I had bought the phone but later when my Phone got into the boot loop, while trying to fix it I figured out that my phone has been rooted, several times, and adapted, it would seem, to run on the, “H”, model firmware. I did some google search and found the link and on this portal I got the link to TWRP recovery and I downloaded the same and flashed to my phone, my phone works fine now and is not getting into the bootloop anymore but somehow the wifi direct option has stopped working. Everytime when I try to launch / open the wifi direct option, I get a error message .i.e. “Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.” Can you please let me know how can I fix this issue.

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 from Vodaphon in Australia and I have a problem with Bluetooth it does pair and when it connects it last maybe 5-10 seconds. After a lot of reading on xda I conclude that it is a problem with some code that Samsung has changed. My question is If I root the phone will it rectify the problem or not. If yes how do I go about doing it or can you point me in the right direction. (Oh the iPhone 5 connects and works like a Charm as well as my HTC HD2 that I rooted from xda that is running windows mobile).
    Thanks in advance.
