For this week’s ROM of the week, check out the latest Fusion ROM by XDA user Dragon7780.
Based on latest Android 5.0.2, Fusion ROM is an AOSP ROM (What is AOSP?) with lots of customization, 4K video recording, and even custom kernel with overclocking support up to 3Ghz!
I’ve tried many AOSP ROMs on my S5 lately but by far Fusion ROM has the most features (that I like) along with a working 4K camera and overclocking kernel out of the box.
For customization, Fusion ROM brings you App Circle Bar, custom system animations, screen recording, DPI changer, quick setting tiles customization/re-ordering, PIE controls, Gesture Anywhere, Viper4Android Equalizer, KTweaker Kernel tweaker app, and much much more.
For overclocking, I do recommend 2.764Ghz for maximum frequency as it’s very stable and will get your Galaxy S5 just as fast as a Note 4. (Theoretically, you can go higher if you can cool the phone a bit. E.g. You live in Alaska and the temperature is very low outside, you may be able to get it to 3Ghz stable.) Even without overclocking, the Fusion ROM is zippy as hell but the option is there for gamers/overclockers.
And yes, 4K recording is FINALLY available on AOSP ROMs, Fusion ROM is one of the first to support it out of the box! So, definitely give Fusion ROM a test drive this week(end) and do let me know what you think (but I LOVE IT!).
