Bluetooth worked good for a few minutes, after I attempted a fourth file to transfer from my older phone it failed to recognize or even show my S5.

Additionally, after Bluetooth had failed I went transfer via Android Beam however the NFC completely failed and wouldn’t even start. It kept getting stuck when I tried to turn it on however never actually did.

Lastly, maybe I am doing something wrong or there’s an easy way to fix this, however the screen brightness will constantly change without the auto brightness turned on. I select max brightness and it will fluctuate levels of brightness.

Other than these extremely minor issues (to me anyways) its an excellent ROM so far and is extremely fast. Not sure about battery life either as I am still downloading my old apps.

Will this works on a SM-G900M?

  3. GP says:

After installing Super SU the WiFi does not show in the phone, like it has not WiFi Network card.

  4. GP says:

Titanium Backup does not work with the ROM root, but if I install Super SU then I cannot switch on WiFi.

  5. Ramal says:

Esta versão da ROM pode ser usada diariamente ?

  6. Edward says:

When i connect with a otg cable my phone crash.

  7. Dimitri says:

Tried installing SuperSU, was informed by the app the SU binary has to be update. I did this through the app but then got stuck in a boot loop. Wouldn’t even read through my computer turning on or shut off (not sure if it normally does or not anyways). Do NOT update your SU Binary or you will be forced to reinstall the OS.

And PS, if you do have to reinstall the ROM, do not wipe the data, just the system and both caches. Once you reinstall the ROM your phone will be exactly how you left it before the crash!

  8. Anthony says:

I am having the same issues as the people above me when i try installing supersu the wifi stops working and wont let me enable it

  9. Carlos says:

It’s not necessary install SuperSU, because CM14 already include it in main installation. Just active it in Developer options menu.

    • Dimitri says:

Assuming you meant we can activate it in the developers options, where do you find that? I look through the whole list and nothing relating to SuperSU, is it under a different name or just another word (I don’t know much about the morr detailed things in electronics).

      • Korboratov says:

        Its under Root Access.

        • Dimitri says:

Under Root Access I have the following:
          Disabled
          Apps Only
          ADB Only
          Apps and ADB

What I have selected right now is “Apps and ADB”, is this what is needed? Is rooting and Super SU the same thing? I thought it was different…

      • Roman says:

I usually never leave a comment but I just wanted to say thank you 🙂
I went to Developers Options -> Root Access -> Apps and ADB and rooting successfully worked! Have a great day if you read that 😉

I’ve downloaded the latest updates for cm14 on the s5 and keep getting a no sim card error. How can I fix this?

    • Ash says:

Delete cache how ever you spell it and do not update

    • Roman says:

Had the same thing yesterday, here is my solution (Factory reset again =( ):
      Download cm14.1 rom
Download gapps for android 7.1 (or 7.1.1 idk maybe its the same)
Recovery Mode (TWRP) -> flash rom (flash = install) -> Restart in recovery -> flash gapps –> remove dalvik cache (maybe you dont need to but I did) -> restart phone.
Remember, you dont need SuperSU anymore since it is already installed in ROM.

Root: Developers Options -> Root Access -> Apps and ADB

  14. Ash says:

I have a problem with the Gapps. Someone link a proper 1 please

    • Roman says:

the cm14.0 rom is for android 7.0 (i guess), so you need gapps for android 7.0.
the cm14.1 rom is for android 7.1, you need gapps for android 7.1.

Give me a reply after a version without many bugs is available. Installed this version, it didnt have the option to choose CM themes. the fingerprint unlock doesnt work too well when i picked it up after it was idle for a while (when the screen was off).

  16. Gildartz says:

In order to intall this ROM, the install the SuperSU thing is a must to do step? Cuz i do not want to have root in my device.

This is the best ROM I’ve used so far with this phone and am very pleased. Per usual there are bugs and I’ve got one in particular I need help with. The network data cuts out all the time and won’t work unless I shut it off and re-enable it. But after so long it will cut back out. Any ideas on what I can do about this? WiFi works fine, and when the data is working out works well.

    • Joe says:

I had the same problem (among many others mentioned here), how I resolved network cutting out after initial connection was by manually searching my network’s access point information on google and then going to settings > mobile networks > add access point (+) then entering all the available info there while leaving unknown info as default. Then have that selected and reboot. I’m still trying to make NFC stay on. It crashes when I try to turn it on.

What about SM-G900H Version of S5???
    Any news yet?
    Can I root it?

  27. Jesse says:

As much as I would love the having my S5 running one of these custom roms I have learned to save myself from the hassle. Every custom rom I have tried, going back to Marshmallow before the official release came out, will always be +/- 90% working. Once I find a major hangup that I cant live without I end up flashing stock. So I warn everyone that before you try flashing with a custom rom take the time to read up on how to restore the stock rom. Better yet, download the stock rom and have it handy.

The question you need to ask before you decide to dive into custom roms is what do you want more. A mostly stable/operational phone with date UI and bloatware or a current UI, less or no bloatware but unstable hardware.

Just because people claim the rom is solid they may not use the same hardware/features that you do. For example, Camera would work and would appear to be recording video. After reviewing videos the audio was garbage. Another I tried bluetooth would crap out after a few songs. Another, GPS would bugger up all the time. etc, etc, etc…

    Good luck!

Followed your directions on installing this ROM on G900V the 5S verizon version that has a sim card which is also compatible with ATT…I did the safestrap … got root, got into SafeStrap recovery, did a factory wipe/data wipe/cache wipe, the rom installed along with the Gapps perfectly… I did a reboot cleared caches … but now i’m stuck in a infinite boot with my blue smiley android guy looking at me… What can I do this fix this? I need some help

  29. Ml says:

Works perfect on tmobile S5. I tried all the gapps and the mini works the best. To add screens, move a app icon into blank area to the right..a new screen will pop. Use the mini gapp and add in the programs you want or need. Ends up better than messing with all the other gapps..trust me..lol

Downloaded cm 14.1 but if I flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip WiFi fails every time. My question is what su app is compatible with this ROM?

  31. mj says:

I didn’t mess with the SuperSU at all. Just TWRP, the 14.1, and the Mini gapp. Battery life after a week is much improved as time goes on and much improved over stock. SMG900T

so after i played with this ROM I can say the following:
    1) the NFC doesnt work for me… for some reason if I switch it On it goes right OFF, thus cant be used ( luckily i am not using it at all so it passes for me)
    2) the phone gets hot when using efficiency battery mode and the battery goes down fast with it so I am using it max power to get the phone work colder
    3) the auto-rotation is buggy as hell.. when the phone should tilt 180 degrees,… it doesnt and when it should open in portrait mode, it remembers it was tilted ( in landscape mode) and it goes in landscape mode even if it should have to…. if the phone is positioned at 180 degrees ( on a desk) but the settings it has to be portrait it will stay portrait… if i switch auto-rotate ON it still stay portrait mode even if the phone is at 180 degrees
The OS is fast and i like that ..but the rotation and the heat is killing me
( using a samsung s5 canadian version (-w8) and i changed the battery last year ( soo its a 1 year old new battery)
